Get Your Domain Running on Fidei

What's the process look like?

First, you'll fill out a form to provide us some information about your domain (or the one you'd like us to register) and the email addresses you'd like us to set-up. Then, we'll go ahead and create your email accounts.

If you are using your own domain we will send you instructions for pointing your NS records at our nameservers. Once you've updated these all your email will start coming to Fidei servers and you can use your new Fidei account.

If you prefer us to register a new domain name for you we'll issue a separate invoice for the annual price for the domain name. After the invoice is settled we'll go ahead and register your domain, set up your accounts, and send you instructions for logging-in.

How long will it take?

After you provide us with all the email accounts you'd like to start with we'll have your accounts created within 24 hours (on workdays).

If you own your own domain name it's up to you when to switch over your NS records to point to Fidei. Once you've updated your nameserver records you can start using your new email immediately.

If we're purchasing a domain on your behalf. Once you've paid the invoice for the annual domain renewal we'll have your new domain and email accounts ready within 24 hours (on workdays).

I'm already receiving email at my domain, will there be any interruption when I switch to Fidei.email?

No. The domain migration process takes a few steps and it's only the last one, switching your NS records at your domain registrar to point to Fidei, that will tell incoming mail to come to your new fidei.email account. Until then all your email will be delivered as usual to your old email host.

Do I need any technical knowledge to do this?

If you own your own domain, changing your NS records to point to ours is a quick and straightforward process that you will need to do at your domain registrar (who you purchased your domain from). If we're registering the domain for you we will handle all the set-up on our end.

Can I create aliases?

Yes! Fidei.email for domains comes with unlimited aliases as part of your plan. Just send us an email and we'll get any aliases you'd like set up for you.

Can I import my old email into Fidei?

This is not something that we can do for you, however, if you wish to migrate your email on your own and know what you're doing you are able to do so. Otherwise, your old email will remain where it is. Additionally, many email providers have an export option, which you can use to back up your email.
